Our last easy Italian reader, Ladi di biciclette, was a great success. Maybe it was because it tells the story of a famous film, or perhaps just because it’s an engaging story about a man fighting the odds to do the best for his family.
Whatever the reason, we sold enough copies in the launch week to actually pay the writer, which was a first!
Today, though, I have something different for you. No ‘book of the film’ this time, but an original story, ‘La montagna‘.
After several years’ absence, Giulio returns from working abroad, and of course calls his two best friends to organize a dinner.
But this is no ordinary reunion. Giulio has an announcement to make: he’s getting married in the summer!
However, he doesn’t intend the preparations for his wedding to prevent him from spending time with his childhood companions, Mattia and Riccardo. After all, they haven’t seen each other for ages!
So he proposes they organize a trip together, trekking in the mountains, just like they did when they were boys…
‘La montagna‘ is written by Enrico Maso, a working Italian teacher and talented young writer, whose other works for OnlineItalianClub.com include ‘Cielo libero‘ and ‘Ciak si gira‘.
The level of this one is A1/A2, but I enjoyed it myself, so I’d say it’s suitable for OnlineItalianClub.com members at more or less any level.
