New A1 Italian exercise: present tense of irregular verbs

January 28, 2015 by Daniel

Buongiorno a tutti.

Here’s today’s new free Italian exercise: presente verbi irregolari

It practices the present tense and conjugation of some essential irregular verbs.

You can see recent exercises in this series, and what’s coming next on our A1 Italian exercises page.

Or if you’re looking for something more challenging, check out the harder levels starting from our top-level Free Italian Exercises page.

P.S.

There’s always a P.S., isn’t there?

And usually it’s of, how shall we say, a ‘commercial nature’.

A link to our online shop, for example.

But not today.

Instead I want to sound out the idea of re-starting our ‘forum’.

A forum is the area of a website where you can participate in written ‘conversations’, organised by theme.

In effect, it’s the ‘community part’ of a site. A place to interact, but in a less controlled way than leaving a comment on an article like this one.

We used to have a forum – some of you might remember.

But there wasn’t a lot of interest, and the spam was overwhelming (like hundreds of fake registrations a day.)

However, this site IS called OnlineItalianClub.com, and it’s true we ARE missing the ‘club’ part…

Which brings me to the ‘sounding you out’ part.

Shall I reintroduce the forum?

Would you value the chance to interact with others learning Italian from around the world?

Would you be likely to use such a forum? Or at least read it?

Allora, by your actions shall you be judged…

If you’re into the idea, leave a comment on this post saying so.

If not, that is to say, things are fine just like this, no forum needed, then do nothing. No need to comment (though of course you can if you want…)

A sufficient number of enthusiastic comments and I will get the forum started.

None or few, and I will take that as a lack of interest and won’t bother.

Go here to leave a comment.

(You have to scroll down to the bottom of the page and fill in the little box…)

Hello 🙂 Althought personally I very rarely comment anything on forums, I read them quite often and sometimes they give me a lot of fun 🙂 So for me forum is a nice thing to have 🙂

I have been wondering where the forum had gone. I enjoyed reading the posts and had considered posting but had not taken that step. I hope that you consider bringing it back.

I certainly will do if I get more feedback like this. Thank you, Linda.

    Ciao Daniel
    You know my views !!!!
I have always used the forums when they were extant, I hope they can be reintroduced.
The use of the CAPCHA will, hopefully, eliminate all the spam rubbish
I do hope there is enough interest it certainly is”vale la penna”
    Cheers
    John

      Ciao John,
Indeed I do, but thanks for joining the conversation anyway.

I enjoyed the Bar and would welcome an opportunity to chat and read other peoples posts. It just helps to keep you tuned in to the language

I agree, Karen. Sorry I had to delete the Bar, but there was a malware alert on that page – as I couldn’t identify, the issue the responsible thing to do was delete the whole page…
Hopefully, we can do better next time.

Mi piace l’idea! Perche no! Ho un gruppo di studenti e forse anche a loro piacera’ un forum come modo per usare la lingua.

    Hi everyone!
First of all I would like to say that I strongly support the idea of resuming the forum in our OnLineItalienClub, regardless of the form in which it will be organized. I’m sure it’s very useful and important to try to write something in the language you’re learning. This will make you find and learn new words that are necessary to express your thoughts and to build correct phrases working independently and creatively. The more attempts you will make yourself to say something new in Italian, the more confident you will be during your possible conversations with Italians.
    But
I think it would be better if our fellowship in the club (or in the forum) was firmly directed by the organizer. I mean you, Daniel. The attempt to maintain the forum just as a site for completely free exchange of views was not too successful, wasn’t it?
Perhaps we will participate more active in the forum if we will get the “task” to write the “exercise” on some certain theme the organizer will give us. The topics for such exercises can be quite different. We could write what we think about impotant and well known events occurring in the world. For example, what do we think about the situation in Ukraine. “Je suis Charlie” or “Je ne suis pas Charlie” and why. Which tennis player is our favourite on the current Australian Open. What do we think about some well known film, about some art style… There are really lots of things to talk about! Ci sono davvero tantissime cose da parlare!
It would be also great if our italian teachers corrected errors in our exercises, but… I’m not sure we should pretend on their free time too much.
But anyway, as I said before, I support the idea to reintroduce the forum.
    Thank you!
    Sergey.

I would very much enjoy reading what people are up to all around the world while trying to understand it when it’s written in Italian. Australia always seems so far away.
