‘La grammatica ascoltata 7’ – irregular Italian past verbs

September 29, 2014 by Daniel

Ever been lost in the woods?

Check out the latest installment in our ‘La grammatica ascoltata’ series of Italian grammar listenings.

This one will help you learn or revise verbs which are irregular in the passato prossimo (‘near past’ tense).

But it also works as, pretty exciting, listening practice.

This is the last of our the A1 (beginner/elementary) level texts.

You’ll find all seven of the recent new pages on the A1 – beginner/elementary page.

On Wednesday I’ll post the first of our A2 grammar listenings, so watch out for that!

Go here for today’s passato prossimo text.

P.S.

Check out the fantastic new cover designs for our e-books, especially commissioned for the exciting occasion of George Clooney’s wedding (only joking)

  • Italian Workout! A1 (beginner/elementary level Italian course)
  • Il ristorante (beginner level simplified audio-book)

Don’t they look great?

See all of the new covers, plus one or two old ones we haven’t got around to replacing yet, in our shop.

Check out the blurb for the book or books that interest you to download your free sample chapter.

Plus, all our e-books come with a money-back guarantee!

If you have problems with the download, forget where you saved your e-book, buy two copies of the same thing, or simply don’t find it useful, just e-mail me to get your payment refunded.

Peace of mind.

Thank you Daniel, Now that we are home and getting back into gear these listening exercises are great revision and really useful. You are quite right, it makes sense to absorb grammar in this way

      Hi Karen,
Nice to hear from you again.
Thanks for the feedback on the listening exercies.
      One question: how’s the volume?
I hear them fine, but several people have written to say that the volume is very low on their computers…
      What about you?
      Daniel

Lousy days can catch you broadside, draw a line and I hope tomorrow is better. Focus only on the things in your power to change.

I have given up listening. The volume is very low and there’s nothing wrong with my hearing or my computer’s sound system. The young Italian man who ran the on line conversation meetings last winter – I have forgotten his name – had a clear and loud enough voice when he read listening exercises.. The female voice has always been too soft.

      Hello July,
Always nice to hear from you, and thank you for your feedback about the audio.
We realised only yesterday that there was a problem with the sound level – absolutely it’s not your computer, or your hearing!
Unfortunately, we made a mistake when we were recording the tracks, but it wasn’t evident on OUR computer…

Anyway, this morning I replaced all 7 tracks in the ‘La grammatica ascoltata‘ series. They’re now a lot louder, though still not perfect as our emergency re-recordings were done without the usual microphone and suffer from some background noise.

So, please try again! You should find all seven in the series to be ‘hearable’ without effort.

And thanks again for the feedback. If more people were willing to take the time to tell us what they like or don’t like, we’d likely have noticed this issue several weeks ago!

Thank you. The sound is now perfect. Regards, July

Perhaps we could agree on ‘less imperfect’.
But we’re teachers, not sound engineers…
Still, we’ll get there in the end!

Nothing worse than a deserted bar, is there?
It’s still there, but just not on the menu where it looks so obviously empty…

I think you will find – Benvenuti Al “Bar Giovanni” on the second page of Daniel’s articles

      Select articles
      scroll to the end
the last entry is on bottom right – “next page”
      click on “next page”
The “bar Giovanni” is, if I remember, the seventh entry – it contains 132 comments
      I hope this helps

    Good afternoon Daniel
I hope you are having a better day. I am losing the plot a little negotiating the site. I am looking for the biographies of the famous names streets as I missed doing them in my crazy summer. I can’t seem to locate them , or Bar Giovanni. This page, on grammar 7 pops up sometimes with 7 comments, and sometimes with 14 which sends my grey matter in a little spin. I have got the grammar page on Passato Remoto and need to get to grip with it as I have avoided it with great skill and finally must knuckle down. I am getting life back under control, have cut my hair short, sent in the accounts for tax, got more control over my horse, lost 2lb in weight, now just need to get the house back in order after a day with the dynamite toddler twin grandchildren. The ironing will have to wait. I only have so much motivation to draw on and this afternoon is Italian Day. after my grammar I am going to try and cook some Ciambelle al vino and some Migliaccio
