Studying Italian grammar and vocabulary is one thing, but actually understanding what Italians say when they speak to you is quite another!
But how to improve your listening comprehension in Italian? Well, practice certainly helps, and if you can’t live in Italy or speak the language regularly, doing lots of Italian listening comprehension exercises is a start.
Check OnlineItalianClub.com’s new “Italian listening comprehension exercises” page: this is something that I am really excited about and proud of. Since Daniele and his team of enthusiastic young interns got started on scripting and recording dialogues and writing questions and tasks to go with them, the results have been much better than I could have imagined!
You’ll really find these Italian listening comprehension exercises useful, I promise! If you’ve already taken a look, go back and see what’s new this week – there are EIGHT new listening comprehension exercises for you to try.

Thanks Daniel for rectifying the Listening Exercises page. My opinion only but I am not sure if the word ‘Howdy’ (top right hand corner of the page when logged in) is appropriate for an italian course, perhaps caio or hello would be better, or are we catering for our american users?
Thanks Michael

Hi Michael,
Thanks for your feedback and suggestion. Unfortunately, “Howdy” is the default for the English version of the content management system we use. I tried to change the code so that it greets users with “Ciao” instead, as you suggested, but with limited success, so decided to leave it as it is rather than risk doing something damaging…
American users of OnlineItalianClub.com are the majority, by the way. Lots of US citizens have Italian ancestors, so there’s a lot of interest in the Italian language. Consequently, I aim to write content for this site in standard American English, as far as my Britishness allows!
Have a nice day!
