Half of Italy is on holiday today, whether officially or unofficially, as tomorrow is June 2nd which IS a public holiday.
And when there’s a public holiday on a working day, we try to make a ‘ponte’ (bridge) and so extend the weekend to include the public holiday.
That way, a weekend and a day off on Tuesday become a four-day break, and it’s off to the beach!
But not for OnlineItalianClub.com…
Instead we have the latest in our series of C1 (advanced) Italian listening comprehension exercises, and down there in the P.S. section, details of the launch offer on our new easy Italian reader.
But one thing at a time.
- For the new advanced Italian listening exercise, click here.
- Other materials at the same (hard) level can be found here.
- Or go here to find materials at all six levels.
P.S.
Ever been poor?
Like so poor that you couldn’t take a job because you didn’t have transport?
But of course, not taking the job would not be an option, right?
You’d find a way to get to work, one way or another.
After all, you have kids to feed, and taking the job will mean good times for you and your family.
All you have to do is get yourself a bicycle.
By tomorrow morning…
++++
‘Ladri di biciclette‘ was one of the first films I watched in Italian, and I’ve never forgotten it.
So it was top of my list of titles to add to our ‘book of the film’ series, and Giovanni (our script-writing online Italian teacher) has done me proud.
His retelling of the story of the film brought it all back…
But I don’t want to give away the plot. I’ll just say, if you don’t know the movie, you should really see it.
First, however, read our Italian easy reader, published today at the special launch price of just €7.50.
Start with the free sample chapter (right click and choose ‘save link as’ to download the .pdf)
Then, when you’re hooked, get the full version from our shop…
