Lettera a John – (Sixth B1 Italian listening & transcript)

May 14, 2014 by Daniel

Here’s number six in our series of eight B1 (intermediate) level Italian listening tracks, plus a transcript for you to study.

Admittedly, an informal letter is a bit of an odd subject for listening practice… But then, an informal letter or e-mail style is usually rather conversational in tone.

So you could think of it as a phone call, or an exchange of messages on a social network…

6. LETTERA INFORMALE – Lettera a John

Roma, 4 maggio 2013
Caro John,
Come stai?

I was looking forward to this and it did not disappoint. Telephone calls strike terror in to my heart so it is useful to think of the letter that way. I had to listen to it a few times to catch the beginning and end. I my typical style I heard piovuto instead of più avuto. There is no hope. Is it my imagination or is this one very slightly faster ?
    Thanks

Could well be slightly faster, Karen..
Don’t worry about not hearing everything perfectly, though. It’s absolutely normal!

    Ciao Daniel!
    Grazie mille per l’esercizio.
Ho letto anche tutti i commenti. Aha! Avanti!!!
