Spanish Speakers’ Typical Mistakes in Italian – Part 1

February 2, 2012 by Daniel

Speak Spanish?

Italian is a popular foreign language with Spanish speakers, in part because of the similarities between the two languages. Because of these similarities, Spanish speakers pick up Italian very quickly (and vice versa) but there are a number of grammatical and vocabulary differences which cause students from Spanish-speaking countries to make some very predictable errors.

So, if YOU know some Spanish and are studying Italian (or are just curious..), check out this list of typical errors prepared by Monica, who is currently doing an internship at our sponsor school. (Thanks Monica! We look forward to Part 2!)

SPANISH-SPEAKING STUDENTS’ MOST POPULAR MISTAKES IN ITALIAN part 1

He salido para ir a hacer la compra

A me piace andare in spiaggia (non “a me mi” ma a me o mi)

A mí me gusta ir a la playa

Adesso Paolo è a Roma (non “in Roma” ma a Roma)

Ahora Paolo está en Roma

Mi piace la gonna rossa e anche quella nera: le prendo entrambe (entrambe e non “le due”)

Me gusta la falda roja y también la negra: tomo las dos
