Cavolo!
I am SO late today!
Australians will be going to bed already, while Brits will be sipping their milky mid-morning coffee concoction and wondering what has happened to the regular email from OnlineItalianClub.com…
At least I’m in time for breakfast on the east coast of the USA, though. Buona colazione to you guys!
So, what held me up this morning was formatting the eight listenings in our new series of B1 (intermediate) Italian listening comprehension exercises. (Thanks to Stefi and Natalia at Madrelingua Italian language school here in Bologna for doing the recordings for me.)
The link to the first in the series is below. The remaining seven will be published, one at a time, from Friday onwards.
- Today’s new Italian listening exercise
- Other listening exercises at the same level (and see what’s coming in this series!)
- Italian exercises at all levels
P.S.
Thanks to those of you who have bought our new easy Italian reader ‘Il grande pesce rosso‘.
It’s on offer until Sunday, remember, so you’ve still time to save 25% on the usual shop price.
Surely there’s no better fun to be had for just €7.50!
Go here to browse all our Italian easy readers, or, if you’re not into self-study, visit our shop for online Italian lessons and have a professional Italian teacher hold your hand while you learn!

Daniel,
I am 72 years old and have been trying to teach myself Italian for about three years. The struggle is immense; however, thanks to your site, I feel that I am finally making some progress. Forse, se imparo di più, un giorno riuscirò scrivere una lettera più adatta per ringraziarLa.
Sincerely,
Ken

That’s so nice to hear, Ken!
My first five or six years here in Italy I made little progress learning Italian.
Then I changed job, and had to use the language each day. For years I did that badly. Some days I still do.
But being a beginner wears off in time (like being young!)
Forza, coraggio!
