I had an email the other day from a fellow who had joined the club over the weekend.
I think it was Monday lunchtime.
He wrote something to the effect that he had filled in the form over the weekend and was anxious to start learning Italian for free.
But he was disappointed not to have received any emails yet. Was there a problem?
I was reminded of an issue that I had been trying to ignore…
People sign up for the club with the promise of free materials for learning Italian.
They receive an email with an article by yours truly or a link to a listening with a new task.
And they think, that’s it?
One lousy link?
And it’s not even at the right level for me!
What a fraud.
Now I would have thought it was obvious that there’s much more to the club than just the thrice-weekly emails.
And that people would realise that there are literally thousands of pages of free material on our site.
That they can study whenever they like, without waiting for an email!
But apparently not.
So I spent part of the morning adding a ‘START HERE‘ page to the club website menu.
The idea is to spell it out, make the mass of free material we offer harder to miss…
A venerdì.
