You are invited to practice your Italian and make a few new friends from around the world!
OnlineItalianClub.com is hosting its first WEBINARÂ Friday 24th January from 13.00 to 13.30.
It’s free!
We’re limiting participation to 15 people this time. First come, first served.
The session will be hosted by Paolo (OnlineItalianClub.com teacher).
Each participant will be invited to introduce themselves (in Italian), and once everyone who wants to has spoken, you’ll be able to talk to Paolo and to each other.
Paolo will moderate, and correct your mistakes if you ask.
There’s no obligation to speak… you could just listen, if you prefer. But you’re strongly encouraged to join in, even if your spoken Italian is still very limited.
All you need to participate is a reasonable Internet connection, a microphone and ideally a headset, which cuts down on the echoes…
Register now
To register for the webinar, practice speaking Italian, and make new friends from around the world, click this link and fill out the form.
Did I mention, it’s free?
Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive a reminder e-mail on Friday, one hour before the session starts. Just click the link (between 12.50 and 13.00 Italian time) to join the session.

Missed it?
It’s possible that by the time you got to click this link to register, it was too late and all the places were taken… Not to worry! If there’s plenty of interest, will be organising other, similar events soon.
Beware the time zones!
13.00 in Italy is very, very early in the morning in the USA, and quite late at night in Australia. For future events, we’ll try and schedule at more convenient times… but for this first one, check out this time zones map to see if your sleep patterns will permit you to join us!
Dawn says
This sounds a brilliant idea. I wouldn’t be ready for this session, but this might make me investigate how to connect a microphone and headset to the computer.
Daniel says
You should definitely do that, Dawn!
Sue says
Yes! I’ve registered! So looking forward to this, exactly what I’ve been looking for, an Italian conversation group!
Can’t wait to hear everyone (perhaps I might even pluck up courage to say a few words)…
Daniel says
Hi Sue,
We’ll look forward to hearing all about you (in Italian) on Friday!
Daniel
Sandra says

Sandra says

sandslane says
What a lovely idea! I hope in the future you will be able to do them on different days of the week to accommodate participants’ work commitments.
Daniel says
Sure, Sandslane. That’s part of the point, to see what the demand is like and which day/time works. Watch this space!
Daniel says
Sorry everyone! Friday’s session is already full….
Assuming there are no disasters on the day, we’ll be organising some more, maybe Friday afternoon or over the weekend, for next week.
If anyone has a preferred day/time, this would be a good moment to say so… (Italian time, please!)
Katy Wheeler says
I missed registering but would definitely like to take part in a future event. Friday afternoons are perfect for me, too! Hopefully I will click soon enough next time!
Daniel says
Friday is a test, Katy. We’ll see how the technology works, then start thinking about how to use it, so look out for other opportunities soon!

Carlo Romani says
This webinar sounds like fun and interesting to participate, however, this session is closed. Regardless, I will not be in town to participate. I would definitely like to be in the loop for other sessions. In the future, if sessions are maxed is there a way for someone to audit these sessions?
A presto,
Carlo
Daniel says
What do you mean by ‘audit’, Carlo? This is the first time we’e done this….
John Thomson says
Hi Daniel
As you saw I had some problems, I was a lonely little fantasma who could not be heard.
The problems are all at my end I will consult my ‘techie’ pals to help me
For those people like Diane who could use the system it looked great
I think you are onto a wimmer
well done Daniel and Paulo
John
Daniel says
Takes a bit of setting up, John. I had the same problem with my first attempt. No one could hear me. And I couldn’t hear anyone else. Very frustrating. The problem was the way I’d set up my computer.
Don’t worry. You’ll sort it out!
