Buondì.
OK, a quick announcement regarding the club’s online shop, which has now become ‘shops’.
EasyReaders.org, which until yesterday sold both ebooks and online lessons, will in future concentrate ONLY on ebooks.
Whereas the online lessons (Italian mostly, but also Spanish, French and German) are now being offered through a new website, the aptly-named, NativeSpeakerTeachers.com.
Apart from there being two online shops rather than one, the ownership structure has changed – it’s still us, so the same prices, same teachers, same irritable customer service, etc.
But each area now has its own legal structure, which means being able to focus more easily (for example, marketing messages only for ebooks, or only for lessons.)
Also that I should, at some point, be able to delegate some of what I do to others in the team. Which will be a relief!
N.b. Don’t rush over to NativeSpeakerTeachers.com to stock up on online lesson credits with your favourite teacher, unless you don’t care about the cost, of course.
Because right after Christmas we’ll be having our January Sale, which means a coupon code that will get you 20% off both lessons and ebooks! Details nearer the time…
Anyway, today we have the year’s final, half-price ‘eBook of the Week’, Giallo a Capodanno, level B2/C1 (upper-intermediate/advanced).
Until Tuesday night next weeek, it’ll cost just £3.99, instead of the usual £7.99.
This one is quite recent, so it’s likely that many of our regular ebook buyers already have it. In which case, go choose something else to read and listen to from our Catalog. It’s Christmas, you deserve it!
Newer club members should, please, check out the free sample chapter (.pdf) to get an idea of the level, length and format of the material BEFORE buying…
This one is advanced, so would be a challenge if you’re just starting out with Italian
What’s the story about??
“Sbrigati Alida, o arriveremo in ritardo alla festa di Capodanno!” ripete nervosamente Martina alla sua compagna di stanza. Alida sta sdraiata sul letto con un libro di Agatha Christie fra le mani. Si toglie pigramente gli occhiali da lettura e guarda fuori dalla finestra: “Nevica ancora, che incubo!”
It’s New Year 1970 and Martina’s all dressed up for the party, determined to enjoy it! But her roommate, Alida is more cynical:
“Ascolta: siamo bloccati dalla neve in un collegio in cui viviamo tutto l’anno. Dei duecento alunni che frequentano la scuola, solo sette (sette, porca miseria!) hanno dei genitori che non li vogliono tra i piedi nemmeno durante le feste. E noi siamo tra questi sette. Quindi puoi anche vestirti come Marilyn Monroe… ma rimani una disgraziata!”
Alida would rather read detective thrillers than pretend to have fun with just six fellow students. But who knows? Perhaps something interesting will happen?

I bought the new ebook Giallo a capodanno re 3 just, pdf today 17/12/21 Order number 34043. My first time to order anything. I was half way through the book and thoroughly enjoying it before I had to stop. Later I found your confirmation email and tried to download it to continue. Unfortunately I got the message ‘you have reached your download limit for this file.’ I saved the other book to Adobe but it was too late to save ‘Giallo’. Is there any way that you could email me the link again.? This time I know how to save it and would not make that mistake again. Thank you for your understanding. Judy

If you have an issue with ebooks, Judy (it sounds like you opened the file but didn’t save it, three times!) then you should, please, write to the website where you bought it from. It’s no problem to help you, for example, by sending your ebook manually, but commenting on an article is a very indirect route!
