Buondì.
I’ll keep this one super-short, as the rules have changed in the part of Italy I live in and all the classes I teach have to be shifted online, starting today! Which means I have to learn how to use Zoom, and how to keep groups of kids interested for ninety minutes without the option of bribing them with boiled sweets and TV. Watch this space…
Anyway, this week we have a new, super-advanced ebook easy reader, for those of you who might be in the mood for a challenge (or you could take my classes for me, maybe…) It’s ‘Chi è per me Cecilia‘, by our regular writer, Francesca Colombo.
What’s it about? Here’s the blub, copied and pasted for our online shop (including the vital and often-ignored ‘How do I access my ebook?’ section):
“Grandioso! Licenziato dopo due mesi… E adesso che faccio?!” pensai. Il primo impulso era stato quello di prendere il cellulare. Avevo scorso la rubrica fino alla lettera “C”, poi mi ero fermato a fissare lo schermo. Infine avevo sospirato e lo avevo riposto in tasca. Preso dallo sconforto, mi guardai intorno e chiesi, questa volta ad alta voce: “Che diamine posso fare?”
Milanese twenty-something Matteo loses his first real job after just a few months, and despairs he’ll ever find another. His parents don’t understand how bad his prospects seem, and he hasn’t spoken to his best friend, Cecilia, for several months. Should he call her? But can true friendship between a man and a woman really exist?

Got all that? A depressed, newly-unemployed college graduate in rainy Milan with woman-problems to boot. You’re going to love it! Beware though – the level really is ‘advanced’, to the extent that there were quite a few words I didn’t know myself. And the glossary is Italian/Italian rather than Italian/English, as with our lower level ebooks.
If you’re unsure whether this is for you, do take a look at the Free Sample Chapter (.pdf).
Too hard? The select something more suitable from our catalog page, where you’ll find all of our materials listed by type and in level order.
Oh, and by the way (I almost forgot…) – newly published ebooks are 25% off the usual ‘easy reader ebook’ price of £7.99, so just £5.99, until Sunday. Get it while it’s cheaper!!
