Why do people put things off until it’s too late?
Me, for example. I’ve been planning to go on a sailing holiday.
I work so hard I need a break. And I get these e-mail offers from various sailing clubs, which I always open and read.
Most times I “star” the e-mail, or mark them “unread”, so I won’t forget to book my place.
I would do it immediately, but you know how it is: there are always a few things that need to be sorted out first.
How will my wife cope with the kids on her own?
That week? It’s usually a busy time at work…
Still, it would be great to get away. And the price is good.
But there’s plenty of time to decide.
Hello, here’s another mail from the sailing club about that offer.
Great! Definitely still interested. Star it!
Look, another reminder about that offer. They still have a few places. It really would be just the job. Exactly what I need.
But then, going through the backlog of e-mails…
Oh, shame!
I’d have liked to have gone on that trip.
But still, who needs the extra pressure of going away at this time of year?
Maybe it was just as well I missed it.
I’ll go next time.
P.S. This IS the last reminder for the online Italian lessons “no risk” offer.

If you don’t like it, I’ll refund your money.
