“What do you want to study today?” asked my online teacher this morning.
Actually, I was hoping she’d have an idea.
“Jag vet inte”, I replied. “What do you suggest?”
“Let’s start a circus!” she said.
Must be some sort of Swedish idiom…
But it wasn’t a problem to find stuff to talk about – we have lots in common, though I’m old enough to be her dad.
If nothing else, she teaches online, I market online lessons, so there’s that.
All that said, I do have a back up, just in case one or the other teacher is distracted, hungover, or whatever.
My wife has been translating some English conversation lessons I wrote years back (for my day job) into Swedish and Italian – she’s bilingual in those languages.
I’ve been publishing them over at my new project, http://onlineswedishclub.com/, and here in the club for you guys.
Which is a long way of letting you know that today there are two new pages of Italian conversation prompts on the club website.
The topics are Emozioni and Educazione scolastica.
So there are now six free conversation ‘lessons’, all of which can be found on the ‘Conversation‘ page, linked to from the top menu of the club website.
If you have someone to practice speaking Italian with, take a look.
But even if you don’t have someone to practice with, take a look anyway!
I find that just reading through the (Swedish) questions is helpful, as they remind me of the words and grammar I’ve studied and get me thinking in the language.
For those who can’t stretch to online Italian lessons with a club teacher, there’s no reason you can’t pratice speaking on your own.
Try interviewing yourself in front of a mirror, while you’re out for a walk, or even sitting on the lavatory!
P.S.
