Buondì.
Here’s the usual ‘preavviso’ that from July 1st to July 7th 2024 NativeSpeakerTeachers.com (which offers one-to-one, online Italian, French, Spanish and German lessons) will be having its Summer Sale.
Which means that next week I’ll be emailing multiple times to publicise their coupon code, which – if you apply it in your NativeSpeakerTeachers.com shopping cart – will save you 20% on your order total.
Practice with native speakers is an essential part of learning a language, so if you’re not already doing regular, one-to-one Italian/French/Spanish/German lessons (which can be conversation, grammar, whatever you want), why not take this opportunity to give it a try? While saving a fifth on the regular price!
NativeSpeakerTeachers.com runs promotions like this four times a year, in the spring, during the first week of July, at the end of September, and at New Year. The discount is always 20%, which means that anyone who regularly purchases their lesson credits during one or more of the four sale weeks gets to take their online lessons year-round while never paying more than 80% of the listed prices.
Furbo, huh?
But what about those of you who are only here for the free stuff (which is fine), or who are no longer interested?
Two options:
1.) Any ‘bulk’ email, so like this one, will have an ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom. Clicking it will permanently remove your email address from the club mailing list. No longer interested? Prefer not to hear about next week’s promotion? Go ahead and use the ‘unsubscribe’ link (scroll right down to the end of this to find it.)
No, really, you’d be doing us a favour! As well as reducing the number of unwanted emails in the world, having a large list of members costs us a significant monthly fee, which is money that’s wasted if you’re not a good match for us.
2.) Less drastically, stop reading emails from the club until the sale ends on Sunday July 7th, after which things will go back to normal, with just one regular email a week, on Wednesdays.
Wednesday 10th of July, for instance, we’ll be beginning our FREE Summer Series of thirty Italian history articles (text + audio). Check out previous years’ articles here. This year we’ll be doing the final fifty years or so, from WWII up to Berlusconi and the euro.
Alla prossima settimana!
eBook of the Week, ‘Decameron’ (B1/2), £4.99
This week’s half-price ‘eBook of the Week’ offer takes you on a trip back in time, courtesy of our ‘easy reader’ version of Boccaccio’s Decameron, a 14th century, plague-era, collection of short stories.
The level is B1/B2, so intermediate/upper-intermediate, but being short stories they’re accessible to a wider range of students, compared to a longer-length text in multiple chapters, which would require more stamina…
… and some of them made me laugh out loud!
Picture an Italian ‘The Canterbury Tales’ and you’ll have a good idea what to expect. Our Italian-teacher writer has selected just eight of the tales for us, and rewritten them in modern Italian.
The thirty pages of text and approximately forty minutes of online audio together offer an entertaining insight into fourteenth century Florence, and the origins of Italian literature.
- .pdf e-book (+ audio available free online)
- .mobi (Kindle-compatible) and .epub (other ebook readers) available on request at no extra charge – just add a note to the order form or email us
- 8 chapters to read and listen to
- Comprehension questions to check your understanding
- Italian/English glossary of ‘difficult’ terms for the level
- Suitable for students at intermediate level or above
- Download your Free Sample Chapter (.pdf)
Remember, this week ‘Decameron‘ is 50% discounted, so just £4.99 rather than the usual ‘easy reader’ ebook price of £9.99!

How do I access my ebook?
When your order is ‘completed’ (normally immediately after your payment), a download link will be automatically emailed to you. It’s valid for 7 days and 3 download attempts so please save a copy of the .pdf ebook in a safe place. Other versions of the ebook, where available, cannot be downloaded but will be emailed to people who request them. There’s a space to do that on the order form – where it says Additional information, Order notes (optional). If you forget, or if you have problems downloading the .pdf, don’t worry! Email us at the address on the website and we’ll help. Also, why not check out our FAQ?
