Buonasera.
I have a new rule about not working on Sundays (I cook and study Swedish instead.)
But it does mean having to do more on Saturdays, which is a drag.
Oh well, just a quickie, then.
Sixty-nine club members have taken up the Free Trial Online Italian Lesson offer so far this week.
But Lucia, our teaching manager, has her heart set on getting to a hundred.
And if you know Lucia, you’ll know she’s a determined young woman who it is not wise to disappoint.
Hence, this final reminder.
Now, I know for a fact that we have club members in countries from Azerbaijan to Zambia (no kidding!)
Lots of you are in Australia, Britain and the USA.
In total there are about eight and half thousand of you who will have this article plop into your inbox this evening.
A third of you might even open it and read it, assuming I can think of a catchy-enough subject line (still working on that one…)
So ragazzi, do me a favor?
Ask yourself, wouldn’t that extra, one-to-one interaction with an Italian native-speaker be just the thing to get me actually SPEAKING Italian?
Might it not be the case that the reason I haven’t already given this a try is because it’s something different and new??
Shouldn’t I try to get past that?
Or at least do the free trial lesson, to see what’s involved?
I’ll add one thing to that.
In the last three months or so I’ve done forty hours (!) of online Swedish lessons.
In that time my speaking has gone from literally zero, not a word, to moaning to my Swedish teachers about Italian tax rates and bureaucracy.
In Swedish, of course.
Sure, I’ve spent some money, and lots of time.
But I have no regrets, except perhaps that I should have started the lessons much earlier.
If, a year and a half ago when I began studying Swedish, someone had said to me how useful the lessons would be…
If they’d grabbed me and said, look, do the self-study, do the Duolingo, but what about trying some lessons, too?
You’ll pay this much, but in a few months’ time you’ll be able to actually speak.
Trust me, it’ll help!
If someone had told me that, I wouldn’t have wasted so many months humming and harring about it.
I’d have snapped it up!
In fact, if I’d known how much it would help, I’d have been happy to pay more.
But hey, that’s just me.
Take a look at these genuine reviews to see what club members like you have said about online lessons with our teachers.
OK, gotta go. It’s nearly aperitivo time, which on Saturday evenings is a sacred moment.
Below I’ll paste the offer details from Friday’s article.
Remember, if I’m to make Lucia happy, I need thirty-one more of you to take up the free trial offer by tomorrow (Sunday) night.
