Italians say ‘Salute!’ when they raise their glasses of spumante or prosecco to toast their good-fortune.
And why shouldn’t they?
They were, after all, born in the world’s best country, one to which no other nation can compare.
Undeniably, Italy has the most attractive coasts and landscapes and the most interesting and significant history.
It’s self-evidently the cultural and geographical heart of Europe.
And of course, Italian cuisine is the world’s finest, the most varied, and the healthiest.
We boast the prettiest girls, the coolest sports cars, the most skilful soccer players, the tastiest coffee, and so on.
In short, to be born Italian is to win the lottery of life.
Congratuations, ‘figlio mio’. You’ll grow up to be one of the world’s best-dressed, most stylish and longest-living inhabitants, admired by all.
‘Salute!’
To us!
Plus, prosecco is just as good as champagne, right?
Literally ‘salute’ means ‘health!’ (not ‘salute’, which would be ‘il saluto’ in Italian.)
And by no coincidence whatsoever, ‘salute’ is the topic of our latest free set of conversation prompts.
These are lists of questions on a given topic, free to use and modify as you wish.
They’re GUARANTEED to get a lively conversation going, or your money back!
That last part’s a joke, as like all of the material on the club website, they’re free anyway.
Check out the ‘Salute’ conversation prompts here, or find them on our ‘Conversation’ page, along with the others in the series.
And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for…
The Free Trial Online Italian Lesson offer starts today!
See this 30-minute online one-to-one Italian lesson via Skype?
Well, this week only, it’s FREE, rather than costing £20.
If you’d like to try an online lesson with a native-speaker Italian teacher (carefully chosen and monitored by Lucia, our teaching manager), just click here.
Use the ‘add to cart’ button to add it to your cart.
Then proceed in the usual ecommerce way, except for the fact that it’s FREE!
There’s nothing to sign, no commitment to buy more, no necessity to cancel within a certain number of days or a payment is taken from your card.
In short, there are no tricks. It’s a genuinely-free, free trial offer.
Assuming you’re not buying something else, no payment details will be asked for or taken.
Complete your order.
You’ll get a confirmation email. Here, I’ll get an ‘order received’ email.
If I’m not teaching at that moment, I’ll forward the email on to Lucia, who will reply.
She’ll contact you by email and ask WHEN you want to do your lesson and, in general, WHAT your needs are, what your level is in Italian, and so on.
Lucia’s job is to assign you to one of our teachers. In part, she’ll make that decision based on when you want to study and when the teacher is available.
Some of them, for example, are willing to stay up really late or get up absurdly early, so as to be able to teach in different time zones.
Lucia’s also your contact point if there’s anything you need.
If, for example, you don’t manage to organise a day/time with your teacher, she’ll handle that for you.
Or perhaps you’d prefer someone younger, or older, or who speaks more or less English, or whatever?
Lucia.
By the way, given that this isn’t an automated process, do be patient.
Lucia has a day job, as do I.
Allow 24 hours or so for her to contact you.
And if we don’t reply to your emails immediately, bear in mind the time difference between Italy and wherever you are.
These are the offer conditions:
- The offer is good from today, 26/02/18 to Sunday, 04/03/18
- We’ve got the capacity for around a hundred club members to do a trial lesson
- If demand exceeds that, we’ll organise the lessons in the order they are booked
- This offer is for NEW STUDENTS ONLY
- If you booked a free trial last time but didn’t take it – do try again!
- But if you’ve already done a free trial (Lucia has a list), this is not for you
- Once you’ve done your lesson, Lucia will send you a 15% discount coupon to incentivise you to continue…
