If you have a large family, as we do, you might sometimes feel that your waking life is divided between work and the supermarket.
My kids go through the contents of the fridge in a flash, especially the milk, so I’m always at our local Coop to stock up.
Which is why, hand on heart, I can vouch for the authenticity of today’s Italian conversation. It’s just like being in a real Italian supermarket!
And given that this IS my specialist subject, other than teaching of course, I thought I’d offer here a selection of words you might find helpful to know before you listen:
corsia = aisle
buoni sconto = coupons
la tessera cliente = loyalty card
i buoni pasto = luncheon vouchers
la raccolta punti = free gift scheme
lo scontrino = receipt
Got those fixed in your head?
So you’re ready to listen to Italian Conversation number 27: Shopping: supermercato!
(Check out the whole series on our Italian Conversations homepage.)
More on Wednesday, buona giornata!
