Buondì.
Next week, starting on Monday, we’ll be having our popular November ‘Free Trial Lesson’ offer.
Which means that, FOR NEW STUDENTS ONLY, the price of this:
Online Italian lessons: 1 x 30-minute lesson
in our online shop will be reduced from £20 to an unbeatable £0!
Obviously, the idea is to get people to give it a try, if they never have before.
Like a first date.
“Fancy going out for a drink sometime?” / “That would be nice. When?”
Also like a first date, many people who might actually have a great time will reply:
“No, sorry. I can’t.”
Why?
Nerves, I suppose.
Fear that something might go wrong.
Worry it’ll be embarassing.
Probably not because they really “can’t”.
More likely because they “won’t”:
“I’ve never envisaged myself chatting away in Italian on Skype with a native-speaker Italian teacher. Good grief, all sorts of things might go wrong. It could be AWFUL! Therefore, I’d better say ‘No’, just to be on the safe side.”
OK, I admit – I haven’t been on a date since 1997. And yes, the first one was scary.
But it worked out really well. We got married, had three kids, and are still together. She likes my cooking.
Much more recently, when I was starting to learn Swedish, I had my first online lesson as a student.
It was a free trial offer (not with one of our teachers) and a disaster.
Not all first dates work out.
Later I tried again, variously with three other teachers. And each time it got easier.
Now I’m on teachers #06 and #07, not because I’m promiscuous or anything, just because I’m practising speaking two different languages and, well, we sort of grew apart…
Each time I start with a new teacher, there’s a certain amount of initial uncertainty. But it’s manageable.
And once we get to know each other, it’s usually clear that it WAS worth taking the plunge.
If you’ve never tried an online Italian lesson, Online Italian lessons: 1 x 30-minute lesson, will be FREE to try from Monday 4th to Sunday 10th November.
You don’t have to actually take the lesson that week, just book it, while the offer is still on.
More details on Monday. In the meantime, read the genuine client reviews.

A venerdì, allora.
P.S.
Apologies to EasyItalianNews.com subscribers for yesterday’s ‘fat finger error’.
In a hurry, I pressed the wrong button and send a draft ‘article’ containing various styling elements to over 4000 people. Oops!
What I was trying to do was to make the ‘Listen’ link more visible.
If you’re a subscriber (which is FREE – sign up here), you get each bulletin of simplified Italian news emailed to you, three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
There are approximately ten short articles in each bulletin and, as you can see if you look at the website, there’s a ‘play’ control at the top, so you can listen as you read.
But in the automatic email that goes out, there’s no play control, just a little blue link to the audio file.
We’re worried people might not see that, and so miss out on the best part!
So I was trying to make the little blue link more evident…
And messed up.
Anyway, sorry again!!
