For anyone interested in Italy or living abroad, check out this fascinating article and short film about the Italian community in Bedford, England, who are losing their consulate after more than 50 years.

As well as the film and the article, the comments section is also worth a look (scroll down to the bottom of the page).
Interesting that even after so long, few of the community seem to have taken UK nationality. Though I shouldn’t be surprised. When Italy won the soccer World Cup a few years ago, I promised my wife I would apply for Italian nationality, but for some reason I don’t seem to have got around to it.
Do YOU live abroad? Have you taken (or would you take) the nationality of the country where you now live?
Or do you prefer to retain your original nationality? Or have dual nationality?
Comments welcome on the article & film, or on the theme of livling abroad.
