I don’t usually email on Sundays, as I’m too busy in the kitchen: washing the dishes, preparing lunch, and making the dough for tonight’s pizza.
However, needs must! So here’s a quick reminder – the Free Trial Online Language Lesson offer ends TONIGHT!!
Get a 30-minute, one-to-one, online lesson with a native-speaker teacher of any of these languages (choose just one):
The next chance to try a FREE online language lesson won’t be until November. Why wait?
February’s a boring month (in the northern hemisphere, at least), so you might as well spend the gloomy dregs of winter, followed by the rainy/windy bits of spring, doing something new, don’t you think?
Start taking lessons now, rather than next time we do this offer in November 2021, and by then, after nine additional months of interacting with a real person, your speaking, listening, and general feeling of confidence when communicating in the language or languages you’re learning will be so much better!
I say this from personal experience. Around four years ago, I started a weekly one-to-one conversation lesson in a language (Swedish) that I had begun studying on Duolingo but not got very far with. Of course, it made all the difference. Hej!
The year after, I added a weekly lesson in a language I’d spoken well as a young man but not uttered a word in for perhaps a quarter of a century (Turkish.) Again, a regular conversation slot took me from not speaking at all to chatting happily, in just a few months. Merhaba!
This time last year, I figured I’d have a go at learning Spanish. Pre-pandemic, we had a holiday in Spain planned. And knowing Italian fairly well should help, I thought, as indeed it did. Weekly Spanish conversations with a teacher in Mexico have been both enjoyable and productive in helping me ‘convert’ my Italian to Spanish. Qué tal?
And most recently, I figured I might as well have a go at bringing to life the French I studied at school, four decades ago. A dozen thirty-minute conversation lessons or so later, and that dusty part of my memory is no longer as inaccessible as it was. Bonjour!
