Following on from last week’s publication of the first in a five-part series about an Italian family that migrates to the USA, here I am, as promised with the second ebook: Colpa della terra, Libro 2, La traversata (also B2).
The title of this one, ‘La traversata’, means ‘The Crossing’, as you might have guessed from the cover image.
Each tale in this five-part series is narrated by a different member of the family, and the story arc as a whole spans more than fifty years, from the end of the nineteenth century until WWII.
Libri 3 and 4 are scheduled for publication in May, and the final one in June, though I might bring these forward, depending on whether I have time to do the other things we have planned for the interim period.
Here’s the blurb from our ebooks shop:
An original Italian easy reader by Francesca Colombo
The second in a series of five ‘easy reader’ ebooks which tells the story of three generations of an Italian family that emigrates to the USA.
Libro 2 opens in the chaos of Naple’s port in 1895, moments before the sailing of a ship crammed with emigrants from some of Italy’s most desperate villages. This time the narrator is Giuliano, the family’s disabled eldest child.

Saturday’s bulletin of ‘easy’ Italian news is free to read and listen to, because it’s funded by donations from students of Italian who value it.
Every couple of months we have a mini-campaign to encourge people to help us pay our bills, usually for a week. This week, for example!
Plenty of people have already sent us cash, amounts both small and large. We’re grateful. GRAZIE!
If you don’t know EasyItalianNews.com, you should check it out. Reading/Listening practice is important. FREE reading/listening practice, more so!
While if you’re an appreciative regular and have been intending to donate but haven’t got around to it, the page you need is here.
