Buondì.
This week sees the publication of the year’s final new Italian ‘easy reader’ ebook.
But don’t worry, there’ll be plenty more in 2022!
Want to know what’s in our pipeline?
Simply put, masses!
For example, we’ll be publishing a five-part series of stories following different generations of an Italian family who migrated to the USA at the end of the nineteenth century.
And, probably at the same time, four non-fiction texts about the experiences of Italians in Australia, Spain, Scotland and, of course, the USA.
There’ll be a new ‘Day in the life of story’, featuring the composer Verdi, which will kick off publication of a nine-part series of short ebooks, each one telling the story of a famous opera.
I haven’t read them yet, but am looking forward to doing so, and maybe listening to the operas, too. The texts are done, but I’m waiting on the audio recordings, so I can read and listen at the same time.
Poi, we’re working on a World Literature ‘collana’ (doesn’t translate, but broadly, a set of books by the same publisher with the same format, theme etc.), something similar to our Italian Literature ‘collana’. So far we have three titles – short simple versions of works by writers you’ll know, such as Chaucer, Cervantes and so on.
There are three tales from history, different periods from the Romans to WWI, all good!
And because a small percentage of our members and customers declare themselves to be ‘not very up with technology’, we’ve done an ebook about exactly that! Basically, read and listen to texts about how the internet works, what you need to be wary of, and explanations of new-fangled stuff like streaming and social networks. A sort of ‘get with the modern world’ course, in an ebook!
So, that’s lots of good stuff to look forward to.
But back to the here and now, this week’s new ebook is called Un giorno da ricordare (A Day To Remember).
The level is B2 (upper-intermediate), but being made up of short stories/texts like the last few ebooks we’ve published, it should be accessible for confident readers/listeners of around a A2-B1 level. Check the free sample chapter (.pdf) BEFORE YOU BUY to be sure! The audio link is in the .pdf.
So, to save me the job of describing it again, here’s the blub from our shop:

So there you have it!
Nine unforgettable days, told to you by memorable characters (I was quite pleased with that piece of copywriting…)
Sounds banal?
Beh, I confess to having enjoyed this rather more than I expected, there being occasional glimpses of truth about the human condition here or there in the text. It was a month back that I prepared this one for publication, and I can still remember most of the narrators, which says something, I’d say.
As usual, there’s a 25% discount this first week, so you’ll pay just £5.99.
From Dec. 6th, it’ll cost £7.99.

A mercoledì, allora.
P.S.
Don’t forget, there’ll be no bulletin of ‘easy’ Italian news tomorrow. The editor is home from hospital and ‘resting’ (watching TV and knitting). Things will be back to normal on Thursday, when they restart thrice-weekly publication each Thursday, Saturday, and Tuesday.
If you’re not already a subscriber (it’s free and there are no catches, promise), sign up here.
Then sit back and await the next bulletin (text + audio), which will pop into your email inbox some time on Thursday morning.
