We’re always happy to hear from Italian teachers who would like to work with us, either teaching online or writing materials, ebooks and so on.
See the descriptions below for our current needs, and to find out how contact us if you’d like to know more.
Online Italian teachers
We’d like to hear from experienced Italian teachers who are available to give Italian lessons online.
As a lot of our members are in the United States or Australasia, we’re particularly interested in working with people who are willing to teach early in the morning or late at night…
You will need a good broadband Internet connection, a reasonable knowledge of the English language and, most importantly, an encouraging and friendly manner.
If that sounds like you, please send your CV and details of your availability to our teaching manager, Lucia. Her email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Of course, she’ll want to interview you, via Skype, as that’s the way you’d be teaching. To save time, please make sure your computer has video and audio, and that you know how to use it, before contacting her!
We’re constantly investing in new materials for OnlineItalianClub.com – exercises, listening texts, anything that is suitable for self-study.
No previous experience is required, but it helps if you teach or have taught Italian and so are familiar with the idea of grading material for a particular level. Obviously, exercises must be 100% your own work and cannot have been published elsewhere.
Take a look at the exercises on our Italian Grammar Exercises page. If you think you could do as well (or better, ideally) we’d be happy to hear from you. E-mail a sample (an exercise or two is fine) to the address in the footer of this website.
E-books / Italian easy readers
Ever dreamed of becoming a writer??
So take a look at the e-books / Italian easy readers in our online shop. These were all written by working Italian teachers who have an interest in writing.
If you have an idea for a story or an ebook, get in touch with us.
We will always ask to see an outline of your idea (maximum one page). If we like yours, we’ll follow up and ask you for a plot summary. If THAT looks credible, you’ll be invited to write a sample chapter to demonstrate your writing talent and understanding of plot, level and so on.
We’re happy to work with both published and unpublished authors. Of course, we’re particularly appreciative of writers who are open to feedback and willing to learn and to make changes as required.
What/how/when would you get paid?
Unless you’re J.K.Rowling, you won’t get rich from writing, or from teaching, for that matter! We offer fixed rates for lessons, exercises and e-book texts, so the more you work and the more expert you become, the more you could earn.
Our team of freelance writers and teachers are mostly based in Italy, but you could be anywhere in the world. For this reason, we use Paypal to make payments for lessons and materials. You’d therefore need to open a Paypal account, if you don’t already have one.
Payments for materials and e-book scripts are made within a few days of receipt. Payments for Italian lessons are made monthly or at the end of a course of lessons, whichever is more appropriate.
Please note, all payments for written texts are made on a one-off basis at a rate agreed with you at the moment we commission work from you.
What about copyright?
Writing for OnlineItalianClub.com in exchange for payment means assigning your copyright to us, permanently and without restriction. We reserve the right to publish texts that we commission and pay for in any form we wish (ebooks, webpages), to translate them, and to modify them if we so choose.
E-book writers are usually credited, so you could link to a published text from your CV, which should help you get other work. Exercises are not usually credited to individual writers, but we’re happy to write a reference for you if it would help.
I have a question…
Fine. E-mail us – the address at the bottom of the page is fine for general queries.
