Our latest two simplified Italian readers are now in our shop at a special ‘launch price’.
We’re talking e-books, in .pdf format, with audio tracks.
Download the first chapter of each to get an idea of how useful this type of material will be for improving your Italian.
The sample chapters are free. Just click the download links below.
The audio for each story is available online for anyone to listen to. Not just the sample chapter, but the whole story.
That’s also free.
So, if you’ve the time to work on your Italian this domenica, here’s something new and orignal to get you motivated!
Il fazzoletto rosa (The Pink Handkerchief)
Story number one features a retired Bolognese detective on holiday in Sicily, where a fellow hotel guest is murdered.
The level is A2/B1 (intermediate, but this is the easier one of the two.)
The story is 8 chapters long, and the audio version runs to approximately 20 minutes.
Download your free sample chapter here.
Complete audio here.
Buy the e-book at the special launch price and with a full money-back guarantee, here.
Un furto ad arte (A State-Of-The-Art Theft)
This is the harder of the two. According to my editor, it’s ‘full of difficult grammar’, hence the level is B1/B2 and the audio runs to 36 minutes.
But don’t let that put you off!
Meet Franco Manera, down-on-his-luck Rome private-eye, and follow his adventures in the under-world of stolen art-works.
This is the first e-book by our regular materials writer, Martina Landini. Her e-book debut confirms a rare writing talent, plus an understanding of the ‘detective thriller’ genre.
You’re going to like this one, trust me.

Good morning, bought the two new books, (paypal went through ok) but had an internet blip and can’t find out where to download them from, hope you can help!
Thanks karen
Hi Karen,
Sorry you’re having trouble. It’s been happening quite a lot, lately.
You should have received three emails. One from Paypal, which you can ignore. And two others, once confirming your order (that’s before the payment), and an ‘order completed’ email, which comes after. It’s that one that has the download links, under the name of the product purchased. They’re quite small, so look carefully!
If you don’t see them the e-mails your inbox, check your spam folder.
And if you still can’t find them, write back to me and I can ask the system to resend the email.
A presto,
Hi Daniel!
Thank you very much for your new materials to learn Italian, the’re great! Of course, I’ve already downloadad both the free chapters, “Il fazzoletto rosa” and “Un furto ad arte”. But I didn’t understand, is it possible to download the audio files? And if yes, how?
Dear Daniel, I’d like to tell you something. As you may be have noticed, I use to execute only your free exercises, I’ve never bought nor the e-books nor the lessons with teachers through skype. And I’m hardly going to buy anything, at least in the near future. Of course, sometimes I hate to be freeloader (actually, I am), but I wish you knew my reason to have this unpleasant status. I don’t have online bank accounts. I live in a small Russian province town, and it is very hard, uncomfortable, almost impossible to use online banking here. Only few our shops receive card payments (and not always), all the other receive only cash. All the services receive only cash payments. Those my unfortunate fellow citizens who receive a salary to the bank account, they are obliged to try to withdraw immediately their money in ATMs, because of what those ATMs are fast becoming empty. In addition, we often have problems with electricity, with the Internet… It’s a great headache, to use a credit card and to have online bank account in my town. I won’t.
So, I beg your pardon that I don’t buy anything, and I appreciate very much again and again your free materials.
And I repeat my question: is it possible to download the audio files related to Italian books?
Thank you!
Sergey.
Hi Sergey,
Thanks for writing in. It’s great to find out a little about you. The place you live sounds rather grotty, no offence….
But anyway, I want to reassure you that freeloading is definitely fine at OnlineItalianClub.com!
You are welcome and your regular participation is appreciated.
Some of our members have no problem with bank accounts, or money, and are happy to spend their ‘pocket money’ on e-books, online lessons and so on. They’re a small percentage of the total, but they help us pay our writers…
For the rest of you, well one of the aims of this site is to build a community of people around the world who are interested in learning Italian, and who might, one day, who knows, decide to come and take a course at our school in Bologna.
The more people who use our site for free, and appreciate what we give away, the easier it gets to market our paid for services, whether online or in Italy.
Feel free to help us out with that by telling your friends what great materials we offer!
Turning to your question about downloading audio files, it’s something we absolutely don’t intend.
In fact, it’s forbidden. No, no, no!
The download option is disabled to protect our intellectual property, and boring stuff like that.
But as you’re the second person who’s asked me today, I’d point out that a simple search on Google will tell you how to get around the problem.
I found this, for example: http://www.complex.com/pop-culture/2012/12/how-to-download-any-soundcloud-song
Alla prossima!
Daniel
Grazie mille! :)))))
Dear Sergey,
It seems that you are having a tough time, sometimes the rest of us take for granted the new technology of internet banking and credit card. I would also like to say how much I enjoy the chat on this comment site so please keep coming, as Daniel says you are very welcome. The site is enriched by this community growing with people all over the world in different circumstances all trying to learn Italian. We can learn much from each other as well as our illustrious leader.
Regards
Karen
